BMW E60 2006 Upgrades

Hi looking to upgrade my current BMW.

Unsure if there is a thread but I want to replace / upgrade the screen and radio in my car (Including IDrive, Nav) also any other mods that can take the interior of my car to the next level.

Also the interior below the screen is boring (Photo to be uploaded) is there casing that could change/ improve this layout?

I understand this is an older model so any advice is good advice.

How many miles on your 2006? Is it running good? I'd spend the money on maintaining your soon-to-be 14-year-old car. If you do a forum search, there are discussions about changing out the screen, and it's not for the faint of heart.

As far as the dash goes, you could carbon fiber it, but that's a personal choice. Other than that, the dash is what it is. Why do you think it's boring?

It's just over 100,000 km so I guess the conversion at 65,000 miles? Car runs immaculate alway had full service as required.

Potentially maybe not changing out the screen but upgrade the software?

Boring As in it is the dash set up with the CD player and mini disc player and have always disliked it.

Any other changes? I've upgraded the grill to the matte black type also.

Additional info: Can something possible be retro fitted via the original bmw phone chord located in the top layer of the centre console?

I assume that will have power to it along with connectivity to the system in place?

Save your money for repairs. Money spent on upgrades to a 14 year old BMW is a waste. CIC upgrade would be the only OEM solution. This would cost the value of the car...So you decide what is important.

As far as upgrades go, I've just been replacing worn trim pieces with brand new pieces from BMW. It's a little expensive but it makes the interior feel factory fresh. The only upgrade that's probably worthwhile is the iPod/USB upgrade that you can do through a Dension module that will replace the 6 CD changer in the glovebox (assuming you have the changer), doing CIC would be far more trouble than it's worth and the parts cost a high price.

There are also software upgrades but only to a certain point. The latest update gives the iDrive a silver appearance and the older versions have a brown appearance.

Sure, here's the site where you can buy it and it has a compatibility tool since versions can vary depending on what iDrive you have. There's a cheaper version which is just the 500 and there's the most expensive version which is the 500S with bluetooth.

I've heard a lot of good things about Dension units. They can be a little pricey but if you want to keep things OEM, this is perfect.
