Welcome to Bimmerfest! I merged your two threads in the New Member Introduction forum, and moved them to the E23/E32 forum (7 Series, 1977-1994) where you should get some help.

ADVICE on possible causes 4hp24eh by ZF

Trans program message says that your car is in LIMP HOME MODE ///or nearest repair place you could trust...IT does that so you do not do more damage to the vehicle....Most likely the issue will be with one of the solenoids DEFECTIVE////short or OPEN electricaly or the speed sensor (you only have 1 in your 750il that year) non functioning or signal from it is not detected by trany control unit...It has been few months now,,has it been fixed yet??? Your tranny is 4hp24EH,made by ZF in Germany...Very solid unit used by multiple companies and HIGH-END models(Range rovers,JAGs,bimmers,Audis etc...If cared for properly,,,, they will go for even over a million miles without rebuilds...I,m seldom here,,,,,if you need help still,,send me an email to
[email protected],,,,,Im not a bussin,,or dealer or have any profit/money
interest to help you...subject should have your car model and year and transmission help in it so i do not delete it without reading it...Good luck,,,,,,,,,

It is usually a voltage issue. Check your output with the engine running. If It's not showing 13.5 or higher replace the voltage regulator or alternator.
