Increased Emissions

I had this on the 6 series forum.. May be better here... When I wind up my 2010 M6 out on the hiway..It will code "Increased emissions" then go into reduced power... This happens with increased load in the upper RPM power range.. Any ideas would be appreciated...

Could be a number of things wrong, your best bet is to go to your local shop where they can pull the codes your car is throwing or use your own OBD reader to do so.

I had the same issue except my increased emissions/reduced power came on during cold starts only. Could be o2 sensors, spark plugs, throttle actuator, etc. there is a number of items but without any codes and little details it's extremely hard to diagnose

Mein Auto:
I'd get the OBDII Bluetooth unit (anything off amazon for like 5 bucks) and get a good app (I use Torque) to run the codes. Usually those two combined is a O2 sensor/Sparkplug issue if they happen at the same time. Sometimes if you just see the reduced power without emissions it's almost always a spark plug. This is my second m6 in 6 years so I have a bit of experience with them haha

I resolved my decreased power by replacing bad o2 sensor and all my spark plugs, but I still occasionally get increased emissions...could this be due to any catback exhaust modifications?
