Eliminating dash and cowl rattles/humming?

No way a $50K and up car should rattle like mine does. One of the reasons I'll never buy another new one.

I need to find a solution to the passenger door rattle right where the trim strip and courtesy light band is. Also the whole dashboard has that buzzing sound when going over anything other than perfectly new pavement.

Anyone have tips on what has worked for you?

Take it to the dealer. They should fix it under warranty. They always did for me

My tip is, take it to the dealer and let them handle it.

Was it wrecked badly? I have owned, or owned with, 3 Bmw's from the e30 e36 and f30, never had a single one of them rattle, both the old ones had very high mileage on them as well 150k plus miles, the f30 50k miles nothing from any of them.

If it was fixed at a body shop take it back to them and see if they can fix it, for free ofc.

I'm on my third F chassis. I had a 2016 340, my current car is an '18 F80 and my wife has her rock-solid 2013 328xi with 89,000 miles. Not a squeak or rattle in and of the three cars. Ever.

I have a 2016 328d with 46,000 miles. There are rattles in the driver B pillar, passenger front seat and passenger B pillar area. It is beyond annoying and really terrible for a car that costs half as much as this one did.

I read somewhere that it could be where they keep the washer fluid resiviour. It's behind the passenger fender. Rattles easy.

Demonstrating the rattles on a road test with the technician or service advisor will benefit both of you. They need to verify and witness the rattle before they can hope to remedy it. There is nothing worse than not hearing what the customer is trying to describe upsers _sl_

I believe the B pillar rattles may be caused by the seat belt retractor mechanism. And I think there is / was a campaign /TSB for the issue. Sorry to be so vague, but it never happened with any of our three F3X's, so not really sure.

In my experience, 9 times out of 10 a passenger seat rattle is actually something under the seat. There was an epidemic of creaking seats with the E39, but I cannot recall a complaint with an F series.

My 428i has a rattle from the dash area on rough pavement but it's not always there. it sounds like a cable hitting a piece of plastic or something.
