mirror date codes

Anyone know how to interpret the codes on an exterior mirror? Itís the passenger side mirror on the back. Has circles with 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. 6 and 7 have marks, the rest donít. Looks like a date code but I canít figure it out.

97 E36, 07 E93, manuals, conv's

A picture is worth a thousand words. Especially when there's no reference that connects your question to the forum. You have two 3 series BMWs listed but you're asking on an e70 X5 forum...and its also not clear if you're referring to the mirror housing or the back side of the mirror glass. I'm familiar with what the BMW mfg date stamp looks like...but your description doesn't quite describe what's in my head as to what this manufacture date stamp looks like.

Help us out with a bit more details or a pic.

Below is an example...perhaps it can help if what you're looking at is similar:
