Not exactly sure but mine actually was smoking a bit. They performed the inspection and oil leakage.
I am still waiting for the motor and work to be done. I have the paper work that they ordered the motor but still waiting for it to come in. I'm done with BMW after this one anyway. Car been sitting since November since I usually do not drive it in the winter anyways I figured I would wait. Now dealer is promising end of March. My guess I will be waiting another month.

Same here. Waiting for engine since November 2018. Mine did not pass oil consumption test, smoking a bit from tail pipes. I have to add 1 quart every 500-700 miles.

My SA called me last week to let me know that mine should be next. They have been working through the backlog since November. It's been 7 months! And BMW wants me to buy the new 850? don't think so, not after all this with their cars and service.

I have picked up my F13 yesterday. Engine looks new. Was advised to do oil change every 5k to not have same oil burning issue in the future. But my dash vehicle service information still showing 10k oil change interval. BMW engineers should take service advisers recommendations too. It's good to listen to my B&O sound again.

Finally. I am waiting to pick mine up this week as well. SA said it should be ready by end of the week so just in time for the long holiday weekend. Getting tired of the X3 I've been driving. Did they mention anything about breaking in the new motor? Every 5K seems more like it. I am so used to changing my oil every 3-5K miles anyway. So now that you have a new motor, you planning on keeping her for a while?

Sure, that was whole idea. I was advised to take it easy at least 1k. They replaced extra parts while engine was out. Which I have agreed on since there was no labor charge. Leaking hoses and vacuum hoses. I hope to run it till warranty ends in next 2 years.

I spoke to my SA today and the car will be ready by tomorrow. Same thing he mentioned that since the motor was out and things taken apart to replace the turbo coolant lines since they run in the center of the engine. Parts no labor. They are going to replace a few other little items on good will so I should be good to go with her for awhile. My plan was to trade up so we will see how this turn out. They are going to detail her as well so I am sure once I get her back I might just want to keep her Like you mentioned , Can't wait to listen to my B&O again. I've always like to have a good sound system in my cars but never realized how much I miss this one in the BMW. The HK in the X3 is decent but just can't compare.
