Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) desired speed...

Can someone properly optioned possibly enlighten me:

The "desired speed" setting for Active Cruise Control doesn't take into account (ie reduce itself) if the Speed Limit Info is also optioned, right? Wondering if these systems talk to each other. I think not but would be happy to be corrected...

Thanks!

Dylan

I doubt it, otherwise they can integrate automatic brake when backup sensor detects obstacle.
I think another car maker was advertising on TV for the auto brake feature recently.

I don't get that, sorry.

Maybe this is more clear: in my scenario, you're driving on freeway with 70 mph limit, ACC on and set to 70. Speed info reads the posted limit decrease to 55. Your set MPH on the ACC is decreased automatically.

I don't think it does this at all. It just seems odd to have to keep adjusting the target speed if car has this info. I'm sure in 5 years these systems might do this (and more).

All good, just wondering... I'm skipping Speed Info since in US it doesn't seem to be able to be ordered alone even if you have Driver Assist Package. It requires DAP (plus package) and includes lane departure warning - $750 in all.

If this functionality was there, maybe. But I drive familiar areas and know the posted limits. I just want car to use this info vs tell me only for that amount. My main"problem" is freeway congestion hence trying out ACC.

Thanks.
