Headlight level sensor

Hi, wonder if anyone could advise. Went for an mot and they said my auto leveling sensor arm (front) had broken off and damaged the actual senor. Order the arm from the BMW dealership and the garage I go to order the sensor, when it came to fitting it he said that the arm was wrong and too long and I needed to get a shorter one, but having checked the part number through my vin number the arm is right, but the mechanic is saying the sensor is right and they've given it me wrong? This is the sensor and the atm (not the best picture) is it right? The arm is like a cm to long for me to attach it, so not sure how to proceed.

Get both part numbers and verify.
You can trust realoem or call a parts department and have them loom it up.

+1 on Realoem. Rarely do it find it wrong.

Yea, the second picture is the wrong arm.

Also, unless the sensor box itself was somehow smashed, I suspect the sensor is ok. You can twirl the arm 360 degrees and the sensor doesn't care.

Be careful when you do get the new arm. You can install it "backwards". If you do, the lights will be pointing as low as possible.
