1992 325i maf sensor issue an question

I have a 1992 325i .. problem is my original maf sensor broke. So I ordered the 89 dollar one off a1auto I believe. Well worked ok..ish during this summer when it was warm. But now i cant keep it running on cold starts it jumps into limp mode ect. So my question is I have the 6 pin maf sensor connection. What other cars or bmws have this same maf seems other years up to 99 even a 91 I've checked doesn't have the same connection .. can i splice the wires an reconnect a connector from another bmw to fit the maf or does anyone know a car with a maf sensor that is interchangeable .. I've search the forums but cant seems to find detailed info on innerchangable parts

Welcome to Bimmerfest!

Probably can't use one designed for a different BMW, but since you know the part number you can search realoem.com to see what other cars it may have been used on.
My guess the problem is the cheap MAF sensor you bought. Sensors are something you never want to replace with cheap parts.

Are you in EU or NA? Sounds as if you have a M50b25 non vanos engine. That is the only 6 prong HFM It would look like this.
