Steering feel in M coupe

So before I bought my M coupe, I had a 01 3.0 Coupe. The steering felt heavier in the non-m version. I am thinking that the M coupe uses a e36 M3 steering rack, is that true? Also if I switch out the steering rack for a non-m z3 will I get the heavier feeling back in the M?

What do you all think?

Yes the M coupe uses a different (slower) rack to the non-M. A very quick rack is not conducive to safe driving at the high speeds that the M coupe was designed for. In fact, the whole steering geometry of the M Couple is different. Look up your M Couple in RealOEM and see what compatibility there is for the rack to see where it came from.

Yes you can change the rack and will likely get the same steering feel as your old non-M Couple.
