Headers and CEL

I've been contemplating adding a set of headers to round out my custom exhaust. I realize by removing CC that the secondary O2 sensors will trigger a CEL. What are the best solutions people have come across for eliminating the CEL? I have the Conforti tune already and it does not come with a software solution for this issue and I'd prefer not to get another tune to overwrite it. Has anyone had success using the anti-fouler trick or any of type of "simulator" to trick the ECU? These devices have been hit or miss for me with past vehicles. Is it also correct to say that this CEL does not affect performance (i.e. no limp mode)?

My model is an OBD II '99 2.3.

TIA
-Matt

I would try the spark plug defouler trick. Had a friend run it like that with no issue. I would do the same but we have smog test in Colorado and would still fail that.

This is probably what I'll start with. Just didn't know if it was a proven method or not. Had mixed results in the past.
