Help

Hey Guys i bought a BMW 328i 13 about a month ago from a private seller and i now noticed this and need help figuring out if its a oil leak and if i need to replace the gasket? Where i circled it had some oil in the corner that i cleaned before taking the pic(My bad) Thanks!Click image for larger version

Itís possible that itís from the oil filter cap, that has an aftermarket one, but also from the oil filter housing. Very common leak area, also I would inspect the serpentine belt, these tend to shred if oil soaked, and can be sucked into the engine thru the front seal.

Are you saying this oil filter cap is an after market one? Would i have to change the cap? Thanks for the response! Ill forsure get it

Damn man i just searched the ďdoorman oil filter capĒ and it leaks oil. I did not know that was an aftermarket oil filter cap.

Same oil filter cap mine has. I bought it from a private seller they mustve changed it. Thanks for bringing that to light i did notice that.
