Allocation troubles

So we waited with great anticipation for the ordering and pricing guides for the 2018 3 series. spec'd out what we wanted when they came out. got with the dealer worked out a decent price only to be told that BMW is not ready to dole out allocations yet...possibly in July. why in the heck do you come out with a pricing guide, order guide and then not take the orders? I am sure it will work out fine. just frustrated at the implication that you produce an order guide...but you cannot order a car...ugh...anticipation will continue to mount. plane tickets already purchased...but we are not headed out until October so plenty of time...just venting

The price guides come out before SOP, I know when we ordered our GT, we had to wait a couple of weeks before the allocation was in the system.

Try a different dealer? I just put in my order for a F30 MY2018 340xi at the end of September and I got a call from the CA saying that my dates were confirmed, still waiting on the final paperwork back from the NJ office now.

I've heard BMW is doing odd things with their ED allocations, so it's possible the dealer is being forced to sell out of their dealer allocations.

It was my understanding that only M cars where given ‘back’ to BMWNA from their allocation, but regular series car was a ‘bonus’ sale as it didn’t come out of allocation. 1st the ED discount reduction to 5% and now limiting allocation of series vehicles? What’s next? Customer has to pay the entire VAT upfront and it’s returned upon import into the USA?

Ibiza maybe into something there.
I have not found any local dealer willing to do ED on any M car I am interested in, if they do well no deals. I can get $500 over ED invoice on any non M cars without even trying.
Sorry BMW with electronic steering I am not interested in non-M car no more. Well maybe P-car is in my future.

This quote is from a former sponsor who used to be active on this board:

"If it's an M ED, unfortunately I have indeed changed my pricing strategy since all M's now must not only originate from dealer allocation, but the dealer must also sacrifice their added value money from the factory on that allocation when donating to ED." March 2017

Yup, that's one of closer CA told me.
So even w/o incentive etc, apparently there is some "added value money" on US delivered car.

I am debating, maybe just order car from out of state and go on US scenic drive instead, I think I am eligible for Fleet discount of $2500 so it'll way under ED MSRP at the end.
