444HP or 450HP?

I've seen and heard different numbers on the horsepower for the 2018 M4's. Some places say 444 and others say 450. Which is it?

More importantly...who cares about a difference you will never feel?

I agree that I will never feel the difference between 444 and 450 but I'm still curious about which one is accurate.

444 is the published number but it is not accurate either. YouTube m4 dyno and you will see what I mean. BMW is notorious for low balling HP numbers.

In the US they quote 444 HP and in EU they quote 450HP. I'm not sure why.

Google must be broken... ZCP = 444HP (SAE/USA) = 450HP (Metric/Europe)

Yes, it does make sense, but remember - nobody lies so successfully about HP output of its engines as BMW. Always on the side/for the benefit of the buyer, though. It still makes it pretty useless to know what BMW rates its engines at - it is never even close, let alone true

It is "for the benefit of the buyer". So, if BMW says 450 HP, that will probably be on the rear wheels and almost 500 HP on the crank.

Basically, what BMW says will be achieved in worst conditions. So, in less than worst conditions you will always get way more HP than what BMW rated at the crank. How much? Who knows - and that is why it is a bit pointless exercise.

Since were on this topic - I agree with the 'who cares' but curiosity is an animal if left untreated. What is the TQ at for the comp pack? All I see is standard 406 and m4 516 but nothing for m3 comp pack

There is no F8x with "516" torque. It is either 406 (standard, ZCP) or 442 (CS, GTS) lb-ft.

I figured such but google failed me miserably. So the ZCP doesn't get a boost in TQ?

No.

Remember, all these figures are mostly at the wheels. Add ~12-15% if you want to compare with other brands HP/TQ figures.

It wasn't to compare, it was pure curiosity. Thanks for the info!
