F80/F82/F83 M3 and M4 (2015 - Current)
F80 BMW M3 sedan, F82 BMW M4 coupe and F83 M4 convertible forum. This 5th generation M3 and all new M4 features a 3.0 liter twin turbo engine (engine code S55) 425hp and 406lbs of torque! Heavy use of light weight materials makes this generation lighter and faster then the outgoing E9x M3.

1200 Mile Maintenance Questions & Woes

This is coming up for my newly purchased M3.

Besides changing the oil, what else can I expect?

Will they rotate the tires this soon? How do they prevent scratching these beautiful wheels?

Who do I talk to about the importance of taking care of this car? GM, service manager, person who sold me the car?

Is it better to get this done slightly below 1200 miles? Or slightly above? Can't plan this to the exact mile obviously.

Having read the horror stories about how service departments sometimes treat our cars, can't say I'm looking forward to this.

Thanks for the group's collective wisdom,

Thanks for the group's collective wisdom,
they do the oil and then the rear diff gear lube is swapped out too. you will not be rotating tires on a staggered set so thats not something to worry about. as far as other things to look at it depends on how many miles you will put on, just follow the advice in your owners manual you will be fine. I change my oil at half the interval they suggest on my daily but my M4 i never get to the miles between oil changes, so i just change it once a year.

Thanks for helping me with my questions.

BMW535ix, can you briefly explain what those two things mean as far as work on the car and end result for driving it? Newbie here thanks for your patience!
