Thanks, Regent Jon, for the info. Spyder is taking copious notes. And ordering soon.

well of course you picked the RIGHT color, but i think you should reconsider a few things....first of all AS!!!! Get it, it is so much worth it, the 6er feels no bigger than my 3er felt....

Sat radio is a must if you like music, imho

I feel comfort access is useless and a total waste of $$$, causes more problems than you could imagine, im not so lazy yet that i cant press a button to open/lock my baby

nite vision, not my preference, probably will be a hinderance as much as anything else...but good luck

Great choices, neighbor. I would have gotten (and have) AS and Satellite radio and dumped the Logic 7, but it's all a matter of personal preference. I will be envious of your keyless go option when you get it. The cruise control, which you didn't get, is a waste of money. (The new Mercedes Distronic plus, which moves you along in stop and go traffic, is what I am looking forward to in the new S65.) The HUD and infra red options will be quite useful when driving in our mountains.

The colors are going to be awesome.

And, I see you ordered Steptronic. Excellent choice (again).

Well, I just spent a couple of weeks driving a fully loaded 650 through Europe (report to follow), so my choices are well thought out for how I plan to use the car. Some personal notes...

AS did not negatively effect steering feel at speed as some have reported, but as a guy who drives a manual steering car (NSX), and another (Audi) with restricted P/S boost, I hardly need help in the parking lot. Besides, I don't like the idea of going to the dealer for an alignment.

I love music so much that I have thousands of songs loaded onto my iPod, which will be my primary source of music. I would've ordered HD Radio, but Real Time Traffic was more important to me.

I experienced no probs at all with CA, and there are times when it's nice not to have to extract the key from my pocket.

I got night vision because the drive up the canyon where I live is unlit and often shrouded in fog. Not sure that NV will help--can't look at the screen and the road at the same time--but willing to give it a try.

Anyway, at least we agree on color

Thanks. I truly enjoyed the car. The big coupe took me back to the days of my first fine car, a '72 3.0CS. Nothing automotive has ever excited me as much as that car.

BTW, another option I didn't like was Active Cruise Control. I generally don't tailgate, but the pre-set following distance (is this user adjustable?) was so great that a stream of cars inserted themselves in front of me whenever I tried it

Although I always believed that HUD made sense, I was unprepared for what a perfect marriage HUD and Navigation makes. Amazingly convenient not to have to take your eyes off the road when stuck in an unfamiliar crowded European city with poor signage (many times there were no signs at all!). Come to think of it, it'll be just as valuable here

it does drive wonderfully in all situations, the best are spirited drives of course!! this car really has a soul and will excite you as much as the 3.0....i had the 630CSi in the past and what fun she was!!!! but the e63 is at another level, you will agree!!!!

i do believe there is an adjustment to the ACC for distance, but i too am not a CC fan....

Having spent a great deal of time north of 120 mph on the autobahnen, etc, last month, I most certainly agree!

I checked the owner's manual to adjust the ACC distance, but my German skills are nil

Okay, Spyder. You are the man. You are now also Lord Wildfire, Prince of Malibu. (Or would you rather be Prince of Monte Nido?) As for wildfires - may we never have another! But HGilmore is Lord Avalanche, so we need to cover other natural disasters. You will also be only the 3rd Prince, after the Prince of Electrons and Prince Siximus. Since you are a geezer, had a 3.0CS, and currently have a Bimmer, you qualify.

Well, it'll probably be close to Nov before this car is delivered to me in California. OTOH, I will be posting quite a few images of two VERY similar cars shortly

Sh!t, so that's why Manolo has been taking such long "lunch" hours. Is he driving the Maybach over and giving you a lift to work, too? Doing the pool? (He used to be the cabana boy before he got quickly promoted, finally to Majordomo and aide de camp. He is not a Knight.)

On another point, my 650i was built September 13 and landed in Oxnard October 14. It took 5 painful days to get from Oxnard/Port Hueneme the full 47 miles to Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas. I suspect someone was pouring oil into the space around the iButton for the iDontDrive, and that took a couple of days to complete. The key to these cars is to get them built as far away from the new Munchen Oktoberfest beers coming out as possible.

I predict that you will have your 650i (or did you get the 5.4 litre, 420 HP 655i?) by October 18. If not, I will send Manolo over to help you wash it with the deionized Perrier water.

This I know, but what I was inquiring, was that the quoted MSRPs didn't include it, correct?
