E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

Engine Tune?

I'm thirteen months into the E64 world. Many thanks to folks in this forum for the education. I've been chatting up schpenxel about an engine tune:

This is what I can expect:
naturally aspirated 367hp v8? NA motors are not super high gains but any tune will add some throttle response and overall improved performance. 20/25hp should be realistic for this motor.

I have a good Indy mechanic. Proper maintenance w/oil service every 5K.

How does this work and what should I be concerned about?

You might get 20 HP max, but it is really add ons that are available. There are not many tuners that work on the N62 engine.

I took a pass on his first price. We'll see what happens when he gets back to town.
