Do you know how it came to be 2 years from now? Is the month/date/year current in iDrive when you do anything that shows the current date?

If you have any YouTube search skills...you should be able to find a short video that shows how to put the cluster into service mode. Any generational BMW model that has the same cluster as you have...the instructions will be the same. So if you find any F-series 5,6,7,X5.X6....the instructions will be the same.

Here's a direct link to the TIS that gives instructions for CBS reset from the car...scroll down to the instructions for resetting from the car...and make sure that you also read the VERY LAST paragraph at the bottom of the page that explains how to check the date for each inspection (vehicle/oil/brakes/etc): https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...nance/1LiqKi85

Make sure you're not looking at the VEHICLE INSPECTION due date and assuming that it is for the OIL SERVICE.

The oil change is two years on these cars, but less if the mileage is much higher, it is about 18-19k miles between changes, so it has jumped correctly!!

Good call...you’re absolutely correct. When the early F series debuted...the oil service interval was 24000KM/24 Months. If you decode your VIN...you can verify this by looking for option code S8KCA.

When I purchased my 2013 f06 GC...I had a PPI (post purchase inspection) done since it was purchased approx 100 miles away back in 2018...and my local BMW dealership asked if I wanted to change the oil service interval from 24K/24M to the shorter interval BMW now uses (15K/12M)...plus it was a free recoding from BMW NA. I said yes.

You can see examples below of two different oil service intervals. One is an excerpt from my 2013 f06 VIN decode and the shorter interval is from a 2016 X5 50i VIN decode excerpt:
