This seemed to be the best thread to post a relatively current list of Service Information Bulletins for the E70. The first 2 numbers of a SIB determine the group, while the last 2 are the original year of publication. Note that BMW will update a SIB to reflect more current repair information, but the SIB number will not change. I appended a page listing BMW's Group Numbering System, as this will allow you to focus on a particular section of the SIB list

For those M57 engine diesel owners, I posted most relevant SIBs in this thread: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&highlight=sib

Happy troubleshooting

Hello all, just bought my first BMW yesterday. It is a 2011 X5 35d. Nice car. I am a DIY'er and have owned and worked on VW/Audi/Porsche since 1980. Gravitated to the diesels in the last 8-10 years and have been hooked since. With the VAG brands there is an excellent soft ware program and cable for diagnosis and performing various task. Is there an equivalent for the BMW DIY'er?

LIGHTS, bulbs and coloration cues:
my '11 X-5 5.0 . e70
I first bought the new KAIBIRD bulbs 12,000k replacements- bixenon HID off EBAY, yeowsa, that was WRONG.
Just weird the color and you actually see less at night.
THEN ORDERED new 6,000K BULBS. Manuf. KAIBIRD. I'VE USED THEM for eight months, now drivers side is OUT, and passenger blinks once in a while.
Low beam bulb warning is on. I think I'm going back to OSRAM OEMs. I asked seller for replacement, Ebay ad states min 12,000 hrs lifetime, but I've
probably used less than 80 hrs from Nov '17 thru now, not much night driving.
lets see if they replace free of charge....

Stick with OSRAMS, either 5k or 6k color best....

My collection of mostly diesel specific recalls: https://drive.google.com/folderview?...&usp=drive_web
-> I never scanned the most recent one about the heater element
-> here's the most recent bulletin SI B 11 06 13 regarding the addition of a bracket under the EGR valve to prevent cracking of the flex joint on the EGR cooler

My collection of training material I've assembled over my years of ownership: https://drive.google.com/folderview?...&usp=drive_web

Enjoy!!!! Even if you may not be interested in tinkering with the car, I'm one of those convinced that knowledge is power, so it may help you understand if you're been bull****ted by a dishonest mechanic or not...

13 pages on glovebox... yeah...I call it overengineering a camel

LInks do not work?

HI, new X5 owner here (the car is used, I am a new owner haha) . Love the car and these forums. I was looking forward to the documents, but the google drive link does not work. Are you experiencing the same thing?

Yes, Alphabet G00gle deleted the URL with no notice. I have a few of the documents that I DL'd for my use. When apropos I upload them to threads but no one seems to read them closely.
