That's showing a call being made or rcvd? What mine looks like and installed over a year ago.

My wifi speed is abysmal but I'll be in my garage and signal strength shows as excellent. Takes forever to update apps. Any suggestions?

That's how it looks when its connected (dont matter if you make or received a call). So your's looks like this too? Before my recovery, it definitely did not look like this for me.
Really wondering what happened to my mic...the other side just hears silence.

I just connect to my phone's hotspot which works fine. Worst case scenario, pull up to a McDonald's parking lot and connect to their wifi.

I am very pleased with mine.

2 questions:

1.Can i connect a subwoofer in any way?
2. Anyone managed to pass metadata through bluetooth to be able to see the album cover?

One final thing: Is there a new software update? My 8.1 is showing HW7

Regards and thanks.

Does this unit require a functioning CCC? The audio on my CCC is currently cutting in and out and sometimes doesn't work. Does this bypass the CCC or will I need to get this fixed first before being able to upgrade? Appreciate the help!

Sorry meant to respond that day but then things happen Checked again and mine only does that when making or receiving a call, not always like that.

I think it's the app I want to update that's slow to do so. TomTom GO map app. Everything else updates fine. Many other map apps I know but my wife is stuck on using this one for the lane guidance feature. An update is 1.5Gb.

Does anyone have a link to the most recent software update? My AVIN unit has been installed for over a year now, ever since I received an SOS error, it has caused my stock functions to freeze up entirely (and no sound either). I am hoping a software update will fix this issue.

And for those considering this unit, I would not have purchased and installed it if I had known the issues with this unit. I have never had sound from the unit itself (I have to use the factory audio and controls) despite multiple attempts from the install shop to work with AVIN without success. I cannot display anything in US units of measure (all metric) and there is no way to change it. Basically, it is a screen replacement that lets me install better navigation software, but that's about it. I am glad to hear others have had success though.

If you can help with the issues above, that would be great since otherwise I am going to have to have the unit removed and the stock unit put back in.

Chad

No, but as that's where your audio comes from still, it'll still cut in and out. Are you sure it isn't your amp, sounds more like an amp problem imo.

AVIN now has a support page on their website you logon to for updates.

But an update won't fix the SOS error. It's an issue with your TCU and can be coded out. I had Bimmergeeks remote in and do mine.

Yeah, mine pretty much sucks too. Days I love it, then days I want to smash it.

I'd try a software update as it might fix some of this. If it doesn't I'd try putting it all back to stock and starting from step one. You should still have the SOS error.

When you say you're going to have it removed and returned to stock hopefully you're doing it yourself and not paying somebody. Takes 10 minutes.

I was lucky to return it within a week of their accepted returns. If it would be reliable device, sure - great idea.. But because it is so buggy and unstable - it is seriously a piece of junk. My 5 year old motorola android phone looked like a sample of stability and performance comparing to AVIN. It is a great to know the stock system will never crash or let you down, hate the feeling that at any point in time this AVIN thing will freeze or do something else stupid.

I guess I was lucky to receive one that works the way it should. I got mine in August 2017. Complete plug-n-play and no issues.

I just want the FM Launch app to be activated, so I can stay on the android side to listen to the radio...

Hi guys,
I have installed the AVIN unit and it's all working as it should BUT like other users my audio out is shocking... it's barely audable on FULL volume and it's hissy and completely unusable.

I have read a lot of posts here about the combination of rear entertainment and logic 7 being the worst possible one for compatibility... lucky me

E70 - Dec 2008 - CCC

I have looked at the connector going into the center console AUX and i have 4 wires.

My car also has the CD changer in the glove box so between these two i should have an option to piggy back one of those to the main harness wires?

If anyone has any help for me that would be great as it's the last piece in sorting out this puzzle haha.

Thanks guys.

All,

I've started seeing new unit with Android9 & ID7 in YouTube. I'm hoping the product is finally being matured!

Hi there, haven't been here for ages and there is no much activity as I can see))

Regarding Logic7 there is absolutely NO issues to have a perfect sound as it should be, the same as your original one.

I'm leading this topic on BMW Club in Russia and install these devices from time to time.

The solution for good Android sound is simple. In case you have Android sound only when connected Android AUX-out with your original AUX-in in your armrest, that normally gives bad sound results.
What you need to do is to get rid of that provided with android aux-in&out cable, buy 200cm of a good stereo AUX cable (without connectors) and connect 3 wires (Black - ground, white & red - audio) from the white main Android plug (on the back of the screen) with 3 original AUX wires near the plug. Of course you need to hide the cable inside the tunnel. Once it's done, all connections are soldered and isolated, DON'T connect that AUX plug back to the AUX socket in the armrest. There is a filter inside that cuts the sound frequency.
Here's a screenshot which wires you need to connect: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l2aporcviz...ombox.png?dl=0

Good luck!

Yes, they are very good and matured now. These devices are available on PX6 (6-core) and Snapdragon (8-core) processors and also Full HD screen is available as well.

Interesting! Does this only work for Logic7 systems (not HiFi)? Do you have a guide? Its been awhile since I removed the Android unit so memory is not so good as where to solder and what to connect. Do you have a link of which AUX cable you used?

It works with any multimedia not only with Logic7 systems. Above I posted the link to the picture where and what wires need to connect.
In addition to that the link to original AUX wires: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7djm5fz4eu...0pins.png?dl=0

So from what I can understand is:
-Get a premium long AUX cable and cut the connectors (ends)
-Splice and solder one end of the AUX cable to the white plug of the Android unit - What color to what color?
-Splice and solder the other end of the AUX cable to the original BMW AUX adapter (have to remove the shifter?) - What color to what color?
-Leave the BMW AUX adapter unplug

Anything else I left off? Is there a way to do it so that the AUX input (inside the armrest) can still be usable?

-Yes, normally 2meters of AUX cable is enough
-Android AUX wires colors may differ in various devices, but usually they are black, white, red.
Connect black with factory white/green, red with factory white/red, white with factory violet
-No need to remove the shifter, just remove the iDrive, top and side tunnel covers to put the AUX cable inside
-Once the AUX plug is unplugged you can't use the factory AUX socket. But with Android on board it is useless.
