Hello guys. Could somebody educate me a bit about the S50. I've recently got myself a 95 M3 and noticed quite a bit of different detail with the S50 engine and researching I'm not finding much info about them.

Somebody I know is talking **** about me having an S50. Saying his S52 is "way" better. Sounds really stupid but I could be wrong. Making it sound like I should've bought a 1997+ lol.

The s50 is just fine and easier to modify depending on what you want to do since it is obd1. You made a great purchase. My last 95 m3 was a blast

Well... it depends on where the car is from. If you have a euro engine, then the S52b32 is indeed better than the S50b30. If you're in the US, your friend is just ... I'll informed. The .2l of more displacement gets about 8lb-ft of torque more. At the expense of crappier breathing because of the manifold, and the less oversquare architecture of the engine.
I've always thought that the 3.0 just reved better. (More freely) than the 3.2. Like the 3.2 was lazy...
Also the later cars got a 3.21 diff vs the 95's 3.15..

So in other words.. no real advantage. Enjoy the car. (What do I know, I've only owned mine for 24.5 years...lol)
