I am also interested in the location/layout of the tools, which is why I requested a photo.

Yea, I'm missing a bunch of stuff, since I see empty compartments.
Not sure which are supposed to be empty.

There is a lot of traffic on this forum.

You repeatedly post new threads with questions that have been answered over and over already.

Instead of making everybody else do the work for you to answer your questions why don't you lift a finger and do a little search work. All the information you have asked for is a quick search away.

No, actually, this forum is very dead. There is like one thread started per day. E46F has like 20 a day.
So, pardon me while I ask some dumb questions and remove the cobwebs here, and allow people to share their knowledge.

You're the only one bitching, so learn to use the ignore feature.

And use with good etiquette, including the OP:

https://www.thespruce.com/forum-etiquette-1216951

So search first. Be nice until flaming is really justified, e.g., you have a 2010.8 E83 that you are trying to shamelessly sell on here for twice its value.

HA! Boy Walt was fun! Man still canít believe the gall of that guy two years later!

Back to Ops question....

Iíll take a picture of mine but what we got in the US was limited to tire changing items and a tow hook. Lots of empty slots. I always assumed that was for European requirements as they have different laws on whatís required in your car at all times but I never looked into it. I know every time I rent a car in Europe they show me where the safety vest, tool kit and first aid kit is at Enterprise.

The e83 forum has always been quite. Like Iíve said a few times in other threads this was a slow moving vehicle especially toward the end of its life cycle. There are far fewer on the road than an e46 or e90. Most folks leased and once we got passed the lease owners moved on and we were left with a few good guys that help each other out as questions pop up.

True most questions have been answered...some many times 10+ years ago especially on features. Heck I stumbled on your BT question because I havenít seen that pop up in forever and remembered wrong. I should have done a google search myself. To your point, not every question you have asked though is out there. Heck Iíve had error codes pop up in INPA where Iím the first to report in the e83 group....sometimes Iím looking at solutions under e9x or e6x forums as they also had the n52.

We are a fairly tight group and we welcome you to the community. Just remember you get more bees with honey and every one is just here to help.

Actually, it is quite busy with people searching for and finding their answers. And plenty of lurkers too. Something like only 2% of people on anything that is very-public actually post, etc.

Oh, I thought X3 did really well and sold a lot of them. It seems like there is a lot of part support. Anyone know how many X3 E83's were sold ?

What the actual F***???

My unfounded hypothesis is that the E46 is a kid's (and therefore idiot's, who can't afford a car) dream car and that forum is full of clapped out versions of the chassis (nothing against the actual enthusiasts that own them) and have nothing better to do with their time than frequent social media, where as the grocery getter X3 is owned by cheap old farts one step above a minivan who have far more important things to do with their time than frequent social media. The thread above illustrates that in a nutshell... if you can't afford a tow bill then you shouldn't own a car.

I hit the forums when I'm bored at work... so basically you all pay me to be here.

E46 certainly has a fair share of young folks. This happens to any car that drops to $5k prices. There are still plenty of adult E46 owners out there, and the forum is a good mix.
This kid simply did not know any better. Most people do not know to pull over even if the car is still able to run. I'd say 99% of people would keep driving.
People who read car forums are not even 1% of the population.

And they deserve everything that comes to them. Stupid isn't illegal, but it does get punished.

I meant X3 total production.
Looks like they made about 2 million of them.
Not E46 level, but not exactly a low volume car like a Lotus Elise

The e83 was closer to 600k worldwide.

2m if you include the next two generations which are night and day to the e83. Light years jump between the 10 you have and the 11. Thatís why in the us sales were slow in 09/10

Funny you say that. My parents liked my 09 so much they bought an early production 11 that still had the n52 but the newer 8sp zf auto

Boy what a beautiful car! Midnight blue with dark brown leather, premium, etc. Fast AF...that new transmission was slick.

Flash forward a year, it was traded in. Nightmare ownership. The rear hatch would randomly open but worse was the ďchassis malfunctionĒ error that would flash on screen and shut down car. It was in the shop 4 times for it. Never really resolved..so it was traded in

But I thought it was infallible for the first 100k miles?
