Carly recommended settings

What are some recommended Carly settings?

So far I set the allow video while in motion and have removed the disclaimer on the nav upon starting.

I set the one-touch indicator to 5 blinks and I set the tailgate to open and close from the dash button and remote.

I fiddled with having the side mirrors fold in when locking (and open upon unlocking) but there are times when i do not want them to unfold until I have moved away from the wall in my garage, so I went back to manual operation for those.

For your video in motion, do you have rear seat entertainment, or is this for the dash screen?

I don't have the rear seat entertainment. Just did the dash.

I tried the trunk close option but it didn't work out. I'll revisit it over the weekend cause that would be useful.

I set the mirrors to fold if you hold the lock button for 1.5 seconds (they unfold with just a press). Turned on digital speedo, turned of voltage monitoring on just about every light bulb so I could run LEDs. Set the windows to fully open with the sun roof if you hold unlock and fully close on holding lock. Set the third brake light and inner brake lights to flash with the dynamic braking thing (haven't tested it). Turned off the disclaimer. I thought my hatch already opened and close with the inside button. I need to double check that.

How did y'all turn off the disclaimer, in the CCC module?

You enter the iDrive menu on the app and for me that was the only option available.

Tried that already and said I must have iDrive...so think something is up with my iDrive.

Anyone have the digital speedo dash picture? Does the dealer frown on this if the car is still under warranty?

I get what's in the pic. Can you see iDrive in coding on your Carly? Emailing Carly to see what's up.

The kicker is my E60 has the same issue as my E70. Can't get into iDrive either. Hopefully Carly tells me a solution.

Can you elaborate on the voltage monitoring for LEDs? I switched out my interior bulbs to LED and they seem to work fine without flickering.

On the other hand, I tested out bright LED reverse bulbs but they kind of flicker after starting the car even when not reversing. I see something in Carly for the reverse light which i could set. Wonder if the setting is a sure thing. I don't want to get pulled over that my light is flickering.

Im going to leave the old fashioned light bulbs for the brake lights. They seem to work well. Sad thing is I had a 2004 330ci coupe and that came with stock LED tail lights. I mean they weren't just LED bulbs the entire enclosure was made with dispersed LEDs. 7 years later my 2011 x5 has bulbs.

Im not 100% sure where the setting is in Carly (I shipped my Carly to my son so he could setup his M3 and X5) but there is an option for voltage monitoring and error reporting for each exterior light. The interior lights are not monitored from what I can tell but all of the exterior bulbs are. So when you start your car the voltage check causes them to flash several times. I turned off Voltage Monitoring and Error Reporting for all the exterior lights.

By chance is there an exterior light test mode so I could test exterior replacement bulbs, like the backup lights without getting a hand from another person?

No I wish we could toggle voltage and temp instead. Its about as useless as that MPG gauge under the tach.

I code my headlight washers on for winter and code them off for summer.
Increased the halo voltage to high since i have yellow halogens, it makes them brighter.
Changed bunch of things for both keys.
My wifes key has the fog light turning illumination where as i hate it so i disabled that. People think your foglight is out. I have LEDs in there.
The speedo, windows up and down with remote, tailgate, 5x turn signal, welcome light settings and so on..

Moment to moment voltage is useless and meaningless.

So are most of you using the Android or Iphone Version. I have both types of phones so was thinking which version to pick up. I guess Android is cheaper......

I would rather get Bimmer Geeks ProTool as it's a 1 time fee unlike Carly which is subscription based now
