Aux & USB not working

Hello everyone,

I just replaced the head unit in my 2007 e93 (logic 7 with navigation). Everything seems to work except 2 things: 1) Aux & USB don't work, 2) the new unit doesn't appear to recognize that there is a 6 CD changer. I could live without the CD changer but I really need that aux to work. On the screen it does show "AUX" in the menu but it is greyed out, not white, even when something is plugged into the port. Also, the USB doesn't charge either.

Could this be a programing issue or is there some component between the port and head unit that could be the problem?? I'm at a loss at this point.

I sure would be super appreciative of anyone with insight or suggestions!

Cheers! Sherm

You need to default/factory code the New Head Unit ,assumming it's the same type,
to your car's options. You can do this with BMW Standard Tool's you may need
and Icom cable as opposed to the cheaper K/D can cable if your car's build
is after 3/07 . Instructions and DIY's on how to code can be found on the
E90post.com coding sub forum.

USB and AUX usually come from modules in the trunk .
In an 07 that is typically a Mulf 2 hi with a TCU stacked on top
of it.
The Head unit will not recognize the modules unless they are enabled
in the firmware on the head unit. Same goes for the cdc.

Aloha,

Thank you so much ctuna for the reply and especially for mentioning the MULF2! I didn't know about that module. I found it and it and someone had bypassed it. Ordered a used MULF2 off Ebay and replaced it. Guess what, AUX & USB work now!

Thanks again and all the best, Sherm
