Professional stereo, Usb/aux not working

Hi, I have the professional unit in my 08 e91 (I have attached a photo)
also I have the usb & aux option under the center armrest. Have tried to use them both for playing audio but neither seem to be working. Is there anything to suggest why that would be? i have followed the advice of checking the options listed for my VIN & i believe it should have them as standard. Just wanted some advice before I strip parts off my dash. I do a fair few miles & would love to get both working or even just the one ***x1f642;

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest using this VIN Decoder to determine which of the following Options are installed in your vehicle, post back with results, and someone can provide correct Audio wiring diagrams for your vehicle: S6FL, S676, S677. OR, simply provide Last 7 Characters of your VIN:

If this is used car you bought you might also want to take a
physical look at the module to see if it's even there or has
been bypassed in addition to checking the options.

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate the help! I have read through the links posted & have found what equipment i should have, it mentions aux which leads to the mulf unit. It's a used car & today i'll check wether my car has it or not. It's a european / uk model so should be in the boot. My photo didn't attach but here is a photo of what equipment i have. So I have no option for DAB even though it says i have it. Odd, I think somebody has messed with things.

Thanks guys!

DAB tuner should be on the left side from the rear from other posts
where the Satellite module would be in the US.
Always best to at least mention the country you are in as models
are different from country to country.

When you press the "Audio" button on left of Radio Control Panel, what Options appear on the Screen? Radio, CD, Aux, USB? If Aux or USB appear, what happens when you rotate the Right-hand Selector -- does the select box move right/left when knob is rotated Clockwise/ Counter-Clockwise? What happens when you Press the Knob with USB selected?

If you have S6FL Option, then your USB & Aux Inputs SHOULD be functional. Most common issue with the joint Ports beneath the center Armrest is the connectors/wiring at the Ports come loose, particularly if somone regularly plugged/unplugged a jack into either of the ports (1/8" Audio jack or USB Jack). An Extension that remains plugged into the jacks should be used so the rather flimsy jacks under the armrest are NOT damaged.

Here are TIS wiring diagrams and Installation Locations for "A267a", Aux-in/USB jacks, along with Connector view for the two Connectors, X18807 & X17183. I would begin by testing for Voltage at Pin #3 of X17183, or USB Power Supply, with Ignition ON. If none, check the fuse supplying Power to the ULF Module, which should be F13 in your 2008 Model.

I assumed from your original post that the Radio works, either AM or FM. When you say "I have no option for DAB" what are you expecting to work that does NOT? You guys in the UK are supposed to know a LOT more about DAB than the "Trumpies" as we don't have DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) on this side of the Pond.

Please let us know what you find,
George

Hi George, I appreciate the reply.
Yes Tuner, CD, Aux & Usb appear & i'm able to to move the knob to highlight each & then select them. I get the aux screen & when I plug the cable there is no sound, not even a pop or a crackle to suggest it's connecting. On the usb screen it says 'insert usb'. tried that also but to no avail. I have checked Fuse 13 & that's ok but first it may be worth me checking the connectors behind the headunit as I've also found out the Bluetooth/phone doesn't work. I think the previous owner has changed stereos at some point so there might have been a bit of bodging done haha I'm confident the rest of the car is spot on (touch wood).

I will also check the connectors under the armrest for sure.

FM/AM & Cd work as they should. Regarding DAB - there is no option on the stereo that I can see. Like where you have the list - Tuner, Cd, aux etc, I was thinking there would be an option. I'm yet to have a good look as i've not had chance but tomorrow i plan to get it sorted. Hopefully somebody can help me better from the UK then. I've never heard you guys being called "Trumpies" that's a new one haha.

Thank you for your help! I will let you know my findings.
