2001 z3 intake camshaft postion sensor

My 2001 3.0i z3 with 73k mile has the check engine light on. The code was for the intake camshaft position sensor. I replaced it however after driving it for about 10 miles the code came back. I removed the sensor and double checked to make sure everything was installed correctly. The light came back on. Does anyone have an idea on what I should check next?

What are you using for a code reader? OBDII reader should read one of these codes PO340, P0344, P0365, or P0369 Camshaft Position Sensor The first two refer, I believe to the exhaust sensor and the last two to the intake. Was the part you replaced a genuine BMW part from the dealer? I've heard the some of the after market parts can be faulty. I had the same problem in the summer and replaced the exhaust sensor with genuine part and have not had a problem since.
