As eagle mentioned above, money factor is missing and that's pretty important.

The price seems a bit high, but I know that NY has different laws regarding leases.

Am I the only one that thinks that $60K+ is a lot of money for a BMW 3/4 series?

I'd suggest that what you have here is a "good" deal. There may be more meat on the bone that you can tear off, if you want to beat them up. New car sales are down, BMW sales are down, and you are in the driver's seat, no pun intended.

2014 BMW 328i CPO 55k miles

Hi all,

I have decided to get an upgrade from 320i to 328i. I got the below quote:

328i 2014 CPO Jet Black, 55k miles for 24,165
Packages:
Premium package.
Driver Assistance Package
Lighting package
Navigation

I have been trying to get the dealer to make a deal at 23,500 but he isn't budging. I looked at the CPO inspection report and all 4 tires replaced but brake pads were not, which will need to be replaced in 6k miles.

Appreciate any inputs on if this is a good deal in Seattle, WA.

Cheers!

I'm looking at buying a non-CPO 2016 340i with 10k miles.

RWD
M-Sport package
19" M wheels style 403
Technology Package
Lighting package
Driver Assistance Package
Heated seats (but not CWP, I think, because there's no rear heated seats)
Backup camera
Harmon/Kardon
Shadow line trim (I think this blacks out the grill?)
Side sill M-performance decals (the side sills and lower front bumper are matte black...looks kinda cool)
And it already has window tint!

We're about to do the deal for $37k + tax, fees, etc. Original MSRP was around $56k. It's less than 18 months old, in pristine condition...I feel like I did ok. Thoughts?

Doesn't seem like a terrible deal at the dealer's price, but it's also not a great deal. That's about what I would expect for a CPO with those specs. Maybe you can get him to meet you in the middle. I imagine that particular configuration isn't too terribly hard to find, though, so if you don't like his price another one like it should pop up soon.

Seems like an average price. I'd walk in one more time and test drive again. Tell them your ready to move forward at 23,500 and if they are not then walk. Its only a $665 price difference, and if they aren't willing to work with you at your price then forget about it.

I am going to purchase it and not lease it. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I am hoping to do a little better on price. He is offering by my calcs roughly 300 over invoice.

Just left the dealer.. Want to lease a entry level 2017 320xi SA. Got a $39,690 MSRP into TPP of $37,338 after dealer discount(2232) and rebates(3K) and rolling in STax/DCF/Reg(2360/599/250). So with a $4000 D Payment Ill be paying $371 for 36 months

Bad Deal ???

Says my credit is good but should I be asking for what my money rate is? And should I demand what the residual calculation is? Plus despite going thru pages and pages on this forum still don't understand what MSD's even are. Multiple security deposits?

Thanks in advance. BTW no packages. Just heated and power front seats and standard instrument cluster w 10K miles per year

I'm new here as well, so I can't offer much help on the actual pricing, but have leased many cars. I would never lease without knowing all the numbers. You need to know the net cap cost, the money factor, and the residual so you can run the numbers and make sure you come up with the same numbers if you want to do the math yourself.

You have to pay the sales tax on the full purchase price of a leased car in your state? I've always leased in states where the sales tax is just applied to each payment so you only pay the sales tax on the amount of the car you are using, but I'm sure that varies from state to state. This is actually one of the main benefits of leasing if you are in a state where you don't pay the full tax up front.

I also would never put anything down on a lease but that's just me. I'd rather have a higher payment and have the money available for use elsewhere.

First, I would encourage you to review some of the threads here as well as the F30 thread (3 series) to better understand some of the lease deals. There is a 'sticky thread' on BMW lease calculations on this board - likely a couple down from this one. Second, I would educate yourself on the components of the lease (Cap cost, money factor, residual value). It sounds like you are aware of them, but the dealer is being a little opaque. Certainly don't agree to anything unless you have these figures. If your credit is excellent, I believe the current MF is something like .00152 (the last digit may be off). This can be marked up by the dealer by up to .0004. Negotiate the 'buy rate' (read: demand the buy rate). BMWFS no longer offers MSDs for new customers, so don't worry about it.

As far as the down payment goes, assuming this is a 'cap cost reduction', then I would recommend that you avoid this. Long story short, all you are doing is pre-paying some of the lease and the money is at risk in the event of vehicle loss. Just put the money in an account and use it to offset the increased monthly lease payment.

My back-of-the-napkin math says something is a little off about this deal and I'm guessing its the money factor (likely marked up). The Cap Cost (negotiated price of the car) seems pretty good, but $370/mo at 10k miles with a $4k cap cost reduction seems high. I would expect something like $371/mo with no cap cost reduction. Get that money factor! (you should get the residual too as I previously mentioned, but this is set by BMWFS and cannot be adjusted by the dealer). Also, where is the $925 Acquisition Fee by the way?

Good luck!

There are many myths about BMW's and leasing. You might get a better deal on a 330i than a 320i. Also look into Service Loaners with less than 5K miles. Before we can say a deal is good or not, we need the following:

MSRP
Sales Price
Cap Reduction
RV
MF

Remember in a lease the goal is to put the less amount of money down (out of pocket) and currently, BMW is offering 3K lease credit, this should handle all of your downpayment.

2017 340 lease deal check

What would you pay for a 2017 340 msport, MSRP $59,500, discount about $55K or $52, not sure yet, I'm waiting for the final offer#s. I was kind of offered this deal, but not final agreement, so $1,000 or 1.5K down, $600-$640 for 36 months, 10K miles.

Did anyone lease similar car, if yes, what did you pay, if you don't mind sharing.

Thank you in advance.

I currently have a 2015 335 m-sport, got it in 2015 April, $500.00 down, $540 a month w/tax, so I think $600ish payment, given that 340 is the newer model, littme bet more$$$, $600ish should be a reasonable deal.

I just got offered this deal for 2017 340 msrp $58,500,
"Okay great. Are you looking for a lease on one? I have this one for you for example I can do $559 per month including tax on this one below with $4995 down on a 36 month 10k lease. Let me know if this is in your range of requested vehicle and pricing.

- I told i can do $500 down, and asked what discounts, incentives, loyalty apply, agj cap cost... and his answers slowed and stopped.

Since your location states los angeles, why not email Greg Poland from pacific BMW? He is a bimmerfest sponsor, and although usually busy ( so sometimes hard to get ahold of) will give you a quote without any nonsense attached to it.

Look at pacific BMWs website (they are in glendale, which is not too bad to get to from anywhere in "los angeles" (using the quotes because not sure exactly where you are, LA proper or one of the many many cities inside la county).

They are a high volume dealer, and if you find something you like, email or call greg poland, tell him you are being referred from bimmerfest and would like a price on XXXX vehicle you see on his website.

If you want to build one, then build it and send him an email with the configuration.

You might have to stay after him a bit, because he is one of the top salesman in the country... but he also wont play games with you, and will give you a price without a bunch of haggling. Likely a very easy transaction because you sound like you are ready to buy.

When the salespeople you are emailing hear " send me all the data" they may not want to deal with you because you know too much information. Many salespeople want schlubs who dont know anything..... easier marks.

If the information dries up, it means they are not interested in selling you a car. If you want to continue with that dealership, email the CA you were talking to and say something like "I am looking for this information ASAP as I am attempting to make a decision on whether I would like to move forward with you. Since you did not respond, does that mean you are not interested? If so, let me know and I will move on.

Thanks for your time,

< name > "

- I spoke w/greg around 1:00, and was on my way to pacific, stock in traffic around
4-6.
