rear quarter window seal (molding)

Has anyone had to reattach the window seal to the rear quarter window on a 650i convertible. it looks like its just glued on. is there a special epoxy you need to use? It just popped off when we put the window up after putting the top down.

Do you mean on the front edge of the window? Can you post a pic?

I've never heard of that problem in the 18 months I've been on this forum or others. I assume you mean the metal came loose from the glass and not the rubber from the metal. I don't know that you need anything special. I think the most important thing is to prep and plan a bit so you are ready to clean off what squeezes out. I honestly think I'd try automotive or marine Goop. It adheres well to glass, is pretty strong, and remains a bit flexible. You'll need to let it sit overnight to cure without moving things.

It popped off clean (metal from glass) I used a thin gel instant adhesive ( gorilla glue) placed a thin bead and had no extra squeeze out. I clamped it with 4 hand clamps and left it over night. It seems to have worked. If it comes off again. I try your suggestion of
Marine grade goop. Thanks for the reply
