Newbie question about replacing struts for 328i Xdrive

Hello Guys,

I bought a CPO 2015 328i X drive 2 years back as my first car and I really enjoy driving it and never had any issues but now, i started to notice little squick noise when i go on bumpy roads so i asked my dealer to diagnose the problem when i went for service. they came back to me saying they identified the problem in the front struts and need to be replaced and gave me estimate of 2400 (labor 900 and parts 1500(OEM or genuine??)).

I'm unsure whether it is worth spending that money on struts replacement with dealer or should i just go for a repair independent body shop. i received estimate of 1100(500 labor, 600 OEM parts)

any guidance is greatly appreciated..

My advice would be to find a good independent BMW shop, or a good alignment shop. These are not super hard to replace.

If your out of warranty, only use the dealer for recall work.

Yes definitely find a good independent mechanic. I'm surprised that struts would need replacement so soon.

Got it..that' What I'm gonna do..I was going for dealer for regular maintenance service as well but feels like not worth it anymore paying 1000 bugs every year for that.

Thank you for your response
