BMW 328d extended warranty!?

Hi everyone,
I bought a used 2014 BMW 328d in perfect shape (it was a lease return). It has about 49,900 miles and it's time for me to decide if I want to purchase extended warranty. There have been a few problems with the Bluetooth and media, but the only real problem I have faced has been the a leak in the oil pipe, which they have already given me a 10 year warranty for. There was also a small problem with the brakes that they fixed a few months ago. They said they can offer me 2 years for $3000 (gold coverage- does not include repairs of entertainment system) and no maintenance. Any advice on what to do? Thanks!

see this thread

and all of these
https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/tag...ended+warranty

doesn't look like you have much time to decide.

you don't mention mileage and it looks like they are asking for a lot.

for best price get in touch with pacific bmw and let them know you're board member.

Thatís a lot of money for only two years, I got a warranty for my car for the same amount but 4 years and 50k miles. But it covered everything in the car except brakes, oil and other consumables.

If it is in perfect shape and all service has been performed then why would you want to prepay $3k repairs that probably won't happen?

What do you mean by entertainment system ? I thought they covered things like the Amp, radio and Navigation system, speakers not so sure. I am talking about the CPO warranty.

If I am not mistaken when new it was offered to me for $1995 and the finance manager offered me a $200 discount which was to extend from 3 year to 4 year and to include maintenance for other services which were not included.

I will have to ask what extended from new is.

This is specifically for the gold warranty coverage. You need platinum coverage for that.

CPO is probably platinum if it covers nav & entertainment.

This sounds like a "top off" of the free service which is 3 yr/36K to take it to 4 yr/50K plus cover things like brakes, wipers, clutch, that are not covered by the included maintenance plan. It sounds like (s)he quoted you over MSRP for that. MSRP for a 2018 330i is $1649.

This is different from extended warranty which is what the OP is asking about.

Don't forget that, living in CA and driving a CA car, it has warranty coverage on most parts of the engine to 7/70K - check your warranty and service booklet. Paying for something that is already covered is not smart.

was the car bought with CPO coverage ?

A 214 would come with 4/50 factory and CPO wouls add another 2 years and up it to 100K
