G30 (2017 - Current)
The next generation 5 Series, chassis code G30, arrives at dealers in February 2017. Looking like a scaled down 7 Series and riding on the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series will have a focus on lightweight and sporty performance. Engines options will come from BMW's new B family for the 530 and 540 and a turbocharged V8 for the M550i. Read more about the 2017 5 Series

Help Autohold stuck on

Hey folks.

My auto hold seems to be stuck on. Usually when you drive off it deactivates but for some reason you can now drive off but it stays lit and then the rear pads grind. So you can drive but the pads are rubbing slightly

This has happened once before but it corrected itself within 10 mins somehow.

I've tried turning autohold on and off - the light turns in and off. Even tried the parking handbrake.

Any ideas?

Cheers

If the light is going on and off when you toggle autohold it's probably not that, you might have a seized caliper. Not sure how common that is in BMWs but every GM car I had for 10 years had that problem (way back). Definitely take it in to the dealer before you destroy your pads in the back.
