G30 (2017 - Current)
The next generation 5 Series, chassis code G30, arrives at dealers in February 2017. Looking like a scaled down 7 Series and riding on the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series will have a focus on lightweight and sporty performance. Engines options will come from BMW's new B family for the 530 and 540 and a turbocharged V8 for the M550i. Read more about the 2017 5 Series

2019 Order Guide

I have the following observations from the 2019 Order Guide:

* there is a Premium Package now added.
* Driver's Assistant Package is gone and Active Driving Assistant is standard.
* Cold Weather Package is gone and you now have to purchase heated seats/steering wheel separate (and at a $450 increase over the old Cold Weather Pkg).
* you have to order Executive Package in order to get the dynamic digital instrument cluster.
* Apple car play is standard

It looks like "enhanced USB and Bluetooth" is now standard but then it's also listed in the Premium Package.

Hey guys - Regarding the 2019 540i xDrive - If I'm reading the pricing guide correctly and the BMW "build" site is accurate... They seem to have eliminated the Driving Assistance Package, as vabmws pointed out above. In the process of eliminating that, it seems some of the features that were in that package are now standard, while others have been moved to other seemingly-popular packages, like the Premium package. Other add-ons from 2018 are also now part of other packages. For instance the Wifi Charging is now part of the Premium package. It seems this restructuring may be quite favorable for those who want to load up on options. For instance, a 2019 540i xDrive that's mostly fully loaded comes out around MSRP $3,000 less compared to the same configuration in 2018. Just an interesting observation I think, because I would think that piling on the high-end options would make a car more expensive in the new model year (or at least around the same price) and not a lot less like this.

As I previously posted, I plan to visit my Costco BMW dealer. I just found the following on the Costco site with regard to rebates/incentives:

"$2,500 if you've previously owned a BMW, and finance your purchase or lease through BMW"

Further the base MSRP, not including shipping on a 540i xDrive is $61,250 (no options) and the invoice is $57,465

I read on a Costco site that you need to have been a member by early July in order to qualify for the Costco incentive.

Are there any links to the 2019 540ix order guide? I found a link to the pricing guide, but looking for the ordering details, list of restrictions such as which options are not available with other options etc. Thanks.

The ordering guide is live at bmwusa but very limited...only two color options for M-Sport (black or white) and no option for nappa leather. Also, hard to appreciate what your car is going to look like because the pics still reflect the 2019 model.

Really? I had gone through previously, and just checked it now. M-Sport 540i xDrive, 11 colors available, including the expensive Rhodonite Silver Metallic, was able to select Nappa leather, etc. no problem selecting all my options. which include most everything.

Don't know about the 2019 pic; I've been told there's basically no difference, so maybe it's the 2020?

I used the online order guide for my 2020 530e and it looked to be right. I could have missed something, but it seemed good from when I went through it and compared it with the PDF guide.
