E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Brake Fluid Replacement

On an '89 325i, how much brake fluid do I need on hand to do a replacement?

About a pint if you do it carefully.

I used a Motiv Power Bleeder I got from Pelican Parts(?)...Maybe it was ECS Tuning, I cannot remember....Anyhow, it made bleeding my brakes MUCH easier, especially if you are working solo. This video gave me the motivation to do this job myself:

This video gave me the inspiration to tackle this job myself. I even ordered the Motiv Bleeder to do the work.

Brake Fluid Change?

Are there any quirks on doing the brake fluid change on an '89 325i?
I wasn't sure if the ABS system caused any special concerns in the process.

As long as you don't open the lines to and from the ABS pump, no quirks.

I combined this thread with your previous thread about changing the brake fluid. No need for separate threads about the same subject.

I've been using the Motive Brake bleeder for years, love it with the BMW fluid cap.

If you have one it's in front of the inner fenderwell on the left side. Should be obvious.....it'll have a bunch of brake lines in and out.
