Remote trouble

Everything was fine until the unlock function on the remote stopped working.
Things I've tried:
Changed battery
Recharged battery
I got a second control coded

During the battery change it would lock and open the trunk but it will not unlock and that only worked for 2 minutes up until I thought the battery had discharges. ( Never worked again )

I thought it might be the antenna but the reason seems to catch stations no problem.
What does happen after a while of leaving the car untouched. The second i press any button on the control the pump starts for one second. "Zzz" I'm guessing this means it's receiving signal from the control ( it happened on multiple occasions)

Any ideas ?

Research the diversity antenna and antenna amplifier on here. Very common problems. I had to replace mine to fix the remotes not working and there were countless threads I referred to. I'm sorry to hear about them problem.

Also look at threads about tailgate wiring harness failure. It's possible some of the wires have broken.

Sorry, I just realized I had assumed you have an E61, but if it's an E60 then most of my message does not apply.

I forgot to mention it's an E60.
I didn't think it was the antenna because the pump would start when I press the remote buttons ( the car reacts ) and both controls don't work they do start the car however I read all about the diversity antenna I'll check it out anyway.

New style as in not the diamond snapped key

Both fobs start the car just fine but none of which will lock/unlock the car. The batteries are fine I've tested them also transmits signal.

The one with the erased logo is the newer key it was programmed by someone that does this for living I guess?. I cracked the new one open it seems like an original key reprogrammed to work with this cas. Is the remote programing separate with the ignition programming ?

These aren't made to open like that.
Also a true new one would have the logo.
I'm pretty sure it takes more than CAS programming.
There are many threads here about fobs, do some researching.
I'm afraid you may have been taken.

It's not Comfort access but hey do unlock by pressing the button however. The original used to work then it stopped the second was made in hope that it would work if something happened to the first but no. The problem is I cannot find anyone with the same issue . I'll keep searching thanks
