99 M Coupe Gearbox Fluid

New to forum. Want to change 99 M Coupe gearbox fluid. Not sure other fluid threads are best for me. Yes, tranny has yellow sticker, MTF-LT-1.

Thanks.

I've been using Red Line D4 ATF Synthetic Transmission Fluid for the last 7 years in my '99 M Coupe. Works great

Thanks, BobC. That confirms what I've been reading. Was lonely for some M Coupe-specific feedback.

The MC is 3 weeks new to me. Love it. Am changing out all fluids. After gearbox, just brake fluid to do. Yay.

Royal Purple Syncromax

I have tried several different fluids. I found Royal Purple Syncromax to to give me the best feel. My tranny has always felt a bit notchy and when the car was new to me I occasionally had trouble getting into fist gear(shift pins). With RP I have no problem getting into first and the notchyness is barly noticable.

What other fluids have you tried?

I tried fresh OEM, Redline MTL, Specialty Formulations(no longer available), Amsoil, and Royal Purple Syncromax.

I mix

When I put the new clutch/flywheel in my 02 m roadster, UCC suggested I put in 1 liter of MTL fluid and top off with Redline auto tranny fluid. So far, it worked well for me.

+1 for RP Synchromax....moved on from Redline, like the RP feel over D4 ATF or MTL
