Just curious where most of y'all put your phone while driving. I love my f36. But storage and general surface area inside is pretty minimal. My phone slides off if I put it near the cupholder so I usually toss it in the console area under the arm rest, but that area is starting to get cluttered with wallet, keys and phone in there at the same time. Plus I'm opening and closing that compartment constantly since basically everything is in there. I was just curious where other people were storing their stuff and if anybody had any tips or ideas that I hadn't thought of. ***x1f604;

Two things I have done regarding iphone is purchase a flat pad that goes inside the armrest opposite the USB port. This is an example of the type of product available.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...BoCBzQQAvD_BwE

I lay my iphone in this bay for charging or hooking up thru USB.

The other option is to purchase Weathertech cup holder $34.95 from Weathertech.

https://www.weathertech.com/weathert...BoCOMMQAvD_BwE

In Massachusetts as of March 1, you have to be hands free with your iphone so this allows the iphone in front of you and then you can plug into 12volt adapter for charging only based on where the cup holders are located in my car. Then if I get any calls or texts, I can see it without opening armrest. I do not have Apple Carplay since my car is 2014 and it didn't exist then. I refuse to upgrade for Apple Carplay since all my music is in the hard drive of my car. My iphone is hooked up thru bluetooth for phone calls only so I soon as I enter the car I'm all set to receive calls. This might be a good way for others to hook up your iphone for bluetooth music or Sirus XM. Personally, I don't use that approach since I prefer the hard drive. The configuration for cup holders in my case is weathertech left side and keyfob sunglasses on right side.

Drop it in the cup holder.

Best phone holder I've found after 7 years of F30 ownership.

Our cars have these: https://www.proclipusa.com/product/8...p-center-mount & https://www.proclipusa.com/product/a...-iphone-holder. I have a vent mount for rental cars, but the ProClips are my favorite after all of these years.

Many possibilities.
1. Cup holder.
2. Generous storage in the drivers side door.
3. On a charger sitting on one of the front or rear seats.
4. My F30 comes with a neat fold down storage bin beside the steering wheel. Not sure if your car has that.

Whoa, I like that way better than the magnetic one I got that clips into the CD slot. Which works well but it's kind of jiggly and has left a permanent dent in the felt lining of the CD slot. Not really a big deal as I've had this car for six years now and have never played a CD in it. I don't even own more than 3-4 CDs anymore; it's all on my computer and phone now.

Yea, the Rennline solution is the way to go. I’ve even autocrossed with my phone on the holder and never had an issue.

I ordered the Rennline one today. Never knew about it!

Is your car Estoril blue? It looks darker.

Nice! Yes my car is Estoril Blue. I suspect my photo editing is the culprit in the color variation.

Carry less stuff or get a GF with a big purse.

That's because it's the ultimate driving machine not the ultimate storage machine. Put your stuff in a bag toss it in the back and enjoy the drive. BMW has pretty good gps so there's no reason to use your phone.

I used to have a seat gap organizer in my F30 that was awesome but I cant find it online. It fit right in between the seat and connected to the hand brake. Could fit my phone and wallet in there. This is the closest I could find - https://prettylittledealstore.com/pr...yABEgKXNvD_BwE

I threw it away when I got an F80 M3 because the seats are too wide and you cant fit **** between.

Definitely +1 for the Rennline holder, super sturdy - that was my previous setup for phone holder.

I charge my phone when I'm driving, so I have the wireless charger that goes behind the cup holders. I have the sliding tray cup holder, not the insert - but I've been pretty happy with it. Phone will probably slide off if you're auto crossing, but it's been great for daily commute and it stays put when you launch the car.

Also, works great if you have CarPlay to keep with the whole wireless setup.

Don't need to put it anywhere...it stays securely in the holster on my belt. Never gets left behind.

You can go to Amazon and buy a magnetic thing that fits in your air vent...they give you a magnetic that fits on the back of your phone with an adhesive and you can then have tou phone right in you ari vent facing you while you drive...I'll see if I can find it and I'll post...its been the most non invasive holder I've found

Another for the Rennline! I liked it so much I bought one for my GTI. I like that it doesn't block off any vents and it's just high enough so that I don't need to take my eyes off the road. The BMW navigation sucks ass. It'll give you the longest route possible and doesn't or reroute fast enough.

I use an Iottie holder. It attaches with a very strong suction cup to the windshield. It is adjustable to about any angle plus telescopes in our out. It locks around your phone when you touch the phone to the cradle. I have used it for years now and is an awesome holder. Places the phone just below my rear view mirror. Just do a search on Iottie phone mount on Amazon or EBay and you will see it
