2014 X1 s28i M sport rolling windows down

Most anything I need is dished up here, but I opened trunk on Friday to get some things, and locked with clicker thingy.

I come back today, Monday, and see all the windows down before I even unlock.

Somehow I did some tricky handshake with the key to get it go down at some time.

Or did someone else have a car signal in parking lot to do it.

Anyone accidently do it on their X1?

I don't have any comfort access stuff, since I have base M Sport model.

Why do I have to worry about this while aN A ROAD TRIP SOMEWHERE?

IIRC if you press the unlock for a few seconds it rolls down the windows.

You can also code it so that long is it be lock to roll up the windows and sunroof if so equipped.

I think that's what happened. I unlocked, and went to attend to other car, and wifey showed wonderment without noticing what happened.

I'll try that next time to go to car.

I'm not gonna get cause an effect answer outta wifey if you know what I mean, but she says she's smart!

Yeah, I've done that a few times, accidentally pressing the button in my pocket. Fortunately hasn't happened yet in the rain. One more reason to get Carly and re-code some stuff.

I've had it accidentally do the partial-window-roll-down. Seems like nice feature, but not sure how I did it. I have noticed if I hold one of the buttons down, it acts as a "panic" button and sets off the alarm. So, I hate experimenting with the choices. :-/

I used to do it all the time. Keys stuck in pocket with other stuff usually did the trick.
I coded it out myself.

I coded mine in. Mind you I keep the key in an otherwise empty pocket so that helps.

If you have Comfort Access you can always throw the key in a leather case and that should prevent unwanted presses. And if it don't have CA it'll just take a tiny bit more effort to open the door / start the car but still leaves to option to open windows and sun roof.

So is there a key press in the key fob that will bring all windows up and close them without a need to turn the car on and close them one by one?

Press and hold the open or close buttons on the remote.

Note that it's coded differently for different regions

When I tried to press and hold the open button, it opened all the windows and the sunroof. I tried to press hold again each open or close and nothing happened.

I might have to try it again tonight. Thanks.

I think that's the standard coding. Mine was the same way.

You can also do that with the physical key in the driver's door lock. Take the key out of the fob and try to close and hold and then open and hold.

you'll need to code the close button to close everything with the car off. i know mycarly can do it and is probably the easiest way.

Yeah, that's what I plan to do. My Carly BT adapter is on its way today from Amazon.

I saw this on a few other BMW's but on hot days the window seals become a bit warm and swell and if you like me and you hold the lock button for a bit too long when locking the car you end up activating the auto close function, which takes up slack as the window tries to close within the seals and this is detected as an obstruction by the car and it automatically rolls the window down half way.

My mothers Golf GTI had this issue and it was resolved by tweaking the positioning of the windows slightly lower.
