OT: Pic of your first car

Came across a picture of my first car and thought this might be a fun post. Iím sure itís been done, but what the hell.

1976 Camaro, 6-Cylinder and pretty much 75% bondo which I discovered after someone backed into my door and it shattered into pieces. I bought this car myself before I even got my license with money I saved from my paper route, yeah, remember when people got newspapers delivered?

I inherited/purchased my grandfather's car as my first, in 2017. I only had it for a few months as me and my wife were in the final stages of preparing the move from Sweden to the U.S.

After totaling the Camaro, I bought a Food Granada mainly because it had a V8 302. GP's were always high on my list. Fixed your pic Howie.

Nice...thanks Joe

The Granada was my dad's car btw.

I've been looking around the country for a "70 GP...almost flew out to Des Moines
for an identical one to mine...3 cars are enough for now.

My cousin still has his '70 from high school. He lived next door to me in Stoughton and was always working on it. He totally modified it - 6-pack, chromed engine components, colored wires, Kragers, custom leather reupholstered seats....he could get the front end off the ground.

After doing all this work...he grew up and brought it all back to stock, down to the delco radio and hub caps.

I'd prefer stock for sure...I like the original Pontiac wheels. My actual first car was a
'66 Pontiac Executive with a 389. Unfortunately no pics. The GP was #2

1964 Pontiac Bonneville 2dr Hard top for my 1st ride. Arizona car, no rust, no dents and very large, bought it before I had my license.

I worked at a well known machine shop for (6) years that specializes in drag racing differentials, brakes, suspensions etc.
Still in business today and is still at the forefront of what it does best, Strange Engineering.

Rebuilt the 389 and added a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 with a B&M floor shifter, it was a hit in high school.

Looked just like this pict. same color and all.

Purchased a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Esprit in High School 11th grade, 1984 before I even had a drivers licence. I paid $895.00 for it. I worked off jobs saving 1/2 of that and my step father pitched in the other 1/2. Man I loved that car so much! Wish Id'a kept it for sure!

I can see gas was cheap over there...and that size matter,
I bought this used in 1983 or something.
Then got a Toyota Corolla KE20, which had been painted so it rusted, then a KE30, like on the picture, screaming yellow, like new. Then a Ford Sierra 1.8 three door, an Opel Ascona 1980 2.0S, very nice car. After that I got my first BMW, an E30 320I two door, loved that car. Then a Mercedes 190D, slowest car I have ever has, but nice drive, then we got a BMW e46 316I and now I have a classic e39 with a sagging roof!

Nice first cars and stories everyone! Nice to see others like me worked and saved to buy their first rides before they had their license. I guess its a sign that we were all budding car enthusiasts. While on topic of the chain of first cars, here are my cars before I bought my first bimmer (those are chronicled in my sig):

1976 Camao
1975 For Granada
1978 Grand Prix
1984 Ford Escort
1985 Pontiac Sunbird
1986 Pontiac Fierro
1986 Camaro Iroc-Z T-Tops 5-speed

Then onto the E30.

My first car was a 1969 Opel Kadette. It took leaded premium which was getting hard to find when I got it in 1980.
My second and third cars were both 1974 Mazda RX-4's (rotary engines).
Sure wish I had pictures of any of them.

Impressive line-up. The Fiero was just a bad idea. I was 19 and I leased it. Six months into it I knew it was a mistake. Gave it back and bought the IROC. Drove the IROC until graduation and then started my career in Financial Serices where I took a BEATING for driving an IROC, so I changed my image and bought the E30.

Seen the prices on pretty much any year IROC these days? It'll make you wish you kept it.
