F80/F82/F83 M3 and M4 (2015 - Current)
F80 BMW M3 sedan, F82 BMW M4 coupe and F83 M4 convertible forum. This 5th generation M3 and all new M4 features a 3.0 liter twin turbo engine (engine code S55) 425hp and 406lbs of torque! Heavy use of light weight materials makes this generation lighter and faster then the outgoing E9x M3. |

I'll be the first one to say it: I was wrong.
http://www.insideline.com/bmw/5-seri...e-diesels.html I wasn't even thinking about diesels in this discussion, but here we are with a tri-turbo diesel M-badged engine. I don't yet understand the the actual rationale behind the third turbocharger, but points go to the OP for being right about the core facts where I was wrong in my dismissiveness.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Though, I'm still irked if they call it an M4, but I'm willing to accept that so long as the engine for the most part stays true to BMW's heritage." __________________ 2004 E46 M3, Jet Black/Black Interior, SMG II, Nav/Fully Loaded "I feel the need... ...the need for speed!" |
