You stated that you have a MY2017, right? If Nav then yes -https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10553689&postcount=2

6-tiles in a row at once in the display (ID5) vs. 3 bigger tiles at once in the display (ID6)

FYI: You can code ID5 Nav to ID6 if you want to experience the changes yourself (100% reversible):

HU_NBT2 Module -> 3000 -> HMI_ID_VERSION set to: id6_light

Technic gave you the line to re-code:

HU_NBT2 Module -> 3000 -> HMI_ID_VERSION set to: id6_light

If you are not familiar with coding, there is a special cable and software required. There are a couple of folks active in this forum that do coding for a fee. I have used Rob in the past, I don't have the link but someone will chip in and give you either Rob or one of the others. Rob sends you the cable. You supply your laptop and set up a phone call appointment. He will have a list available of many other functions that can be coded according to your MY and model.

swapping is really easy in the bimmercode app. just connect and swap to ID6 light in expert mode.
