Rock damage to intercooler - warranty

I noticed a puddle of coolant under my 2018 440i recently. Expansion tanks were low. Took to dealer. Dealer reported a rock had damaged my intercooler radiator (as we've seen reported on forums many times) BUT because of a recent Service Bulletin, BMW is covering the repair under warranty. BMW added a "rock guard" (p/n 17118485042) at a certain point in production after my car was produced 8/17. So the intercooler was replaced and a rock guard installed. I don't know if BMW will cover rock damaged to radiators if your car already has this rock guard. The intercooler is at the lowest point, clearly visible through the wide open center mouth of the M Sport front facia.
See photo with rock guard installed.

Can the service bulletin# be shared with other festers? Does this apply to F30 as well? Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately I have only the service advisor's word that a recent service bulletin allowed them to repair my car under warranty - no specifics on the bulletin. I presume it applies to all B58 engine vehicles, which have the apparently delicate liquid cooled intercooler.

You’d think they’d foreseen something as basic as this.

Sorry, Namelessman, I got the SA to explain the job and show me what they did, but I did not take the time to get an SB#. The invoice merely says job # 178FZLC leaking coolant - warranty (I don't know if that's a BMW job # or a dealer specific code). I'll list the part #s if that helps:
17118741830 radiator inter-cooler
17118625436 module mount, left
17119487033 module mount, right
17118485042 rock guard
82141467704 antifreeze
The rock guard is listed on realoem as a part for 2, 3 and 4 series. The diagram also shows an upper rock guard, which I presume goes behind the kidney grill, but which the dealer did not install.
If you get an intercooler rock hit and leak, I would insist the dealer research relevant BMW bulletins, if they are not already familiar with this repair being warranty. And if you paid to have this repair done, I don't know what your options are but I would not hesitate to contact your dealer and BMW NA.
