X1 F48 (2016 - current)
Second generation F48 BMW X1 builds on the success of it's predecessor. Increases in power, interior and cargo space keep it a leader in the small SUV field.

speedometer registering fast

My speedometer registers 2-3 mph faster than I am really going. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyway to fix it?

That is normal as they canít have it show a speed lower than the actual speed (otherwise you could blame them for extra legal speeds).

I'm pretty sure it is set at a percentage but as stated it can be coded out.

This speedometer "issue" has been around since 1958. There have been addendums to the original regulation...but if you want to know all the facts...just google for UN ECE Regulation 39. It's a lot of math, but the simple version is that no speedometer can read slower than the actual speed.

I understand the codes but BMW can do a better job than they have done. Why should we continue to accept 3-5mph fast speedometers? Other car companies are much more accurate i.e. my Audi S4 is accurate within less than 1 mph error.
