Buffer + polishing kit

Does anyone have experience in car polishing department? I am looking to buy a buffer with a set of pads to DIY my 5er. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, I'm looking for a good budget buffer ($200 max.) What should I be looking at in terms of functionality?

There is a lot of great info on detailing on YouTube, search using "Dallas Paint", I learned so much from the owner of that channel. I purchased an inexpensive 5" Harbor Freight DA (dual acting) posisher, very basic but effective and safe to use by a newbie. You also need to learn about the various pads to use and the different types of finish products, it's not just wax only. I use a Grios One Step compound that combines cutting compounds with polish, and, apply it with an orange pad. You also need some green 3M masking tape. Easy to get started for less than $200 for everything.

The only answer for that money is a Griots Garage 6 inch DA. Lifetime warranty!!!
Buy a five inch backing plate.

You could bounce to Harbor Freight and spend 70 for their DA. You will still want a 5 inch backing plate.
I have used one before and it isn't half bad.

I use Lake country 5 inch flat pads on my Porter Cable DA.
For starters you want 6 orange , 4 whites and 2 black pads. You get deals on 6 packs and pick your colors.
You need some relatively good microfibers. The Rag Co Creature Edgeless are a bang for your buck towel. They do everything decent.

Then there is the sauce for your pads. I use Menzerna FG400, 3500 and 3800 on my BMW.
CarPros new ClearCut compund and Essence Extreme gloss would be solid picks.
