F10 / F11 (2011 - 2016)
The sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series Sedan (F10) was produced from 2011 - 2016 with LCI updates arriving in 2014. In the US BMW offered a hatchback 5 Series Gran Truismo (F07) and the rest of the world also go a Station Wagon/Touring version F11.

Is it possible to upgrade 2011 F10 Nav & Stereo?

Hi all,

I own a 2011 550xi and I am looking to upgrade the stereo/navigation system, which includes the rear-view camera. Are there any options out there? I would prefer to upgrade to a Apple CarPlay capable system.

My main complaints with the system is the outdated phone and bluetooth integration, as well as the poor navigation system that requires constant (and expensive) upgrades.

I've driven newer BMWs, and the integration seemed a lot better.

I've googled options, but so far I've only seen speaker and amplifier upgrades.

I've checked out the Bimmer-Tech CarPlay upgrade, but unfortunately based on my VIN, my car is not compatible.

Any help would be appreciated.

NAV map updates should be free and a lifetime FSC can be purchased for ~$20. BMW provides media updates for free also.

Upgrading from CIC to NBT is, IIRC, around $2K.
