My glovebox lid now makes a constant rattle on rough asphalt. Incredibly obnoxious.

I sometimes hear (what I think) is squeaking coming from the 4 side door windows rubbing at the top of the door. Barely noticeable. If I just so ever slightly lower the windows, the noise goes away.
Comes and goes. Definitely related to outside weather temperature.

I know this thread is old, but I am trying to resolve the same issue on 2015 X1. You're right, the noise is greatly reduced when the windows are down slightly. It's odd.

I can close my doors and push on the outside of the B pillars and actually move the doors in and out. I think that is what causes some of the noises. I have never been able to move the doors like that on any car I have ever owned. Last week I noticed that the door seals rub on their own insides and make a squeaking noise. I sprayed lubricant into the tiny vent holes found around the door seals. That got rid of a lot of squeaking noise. I also keep the windows clean so they are slippery when they seat in the track seals. That also helps a little. Most of the remaining noises are from the door movement.

I just think this is unacceptable. I drive a few different cheap cars for work, and they don't have this issue. And, no, they don't perform as well, and they lack luxury appointments, and blah blah. I have also owned many high-end European cars that never had annoying noise issues. I am not trying to qualify myself, I am just stating what I have observed over the years as a car enthusiast and hobbyist. Otherwise, I really like the car.

I understand that many of you have had 20 BMWs, or whatever, and never had a squeak. I am appealing to those of you who have had the issue. Would you mind telling me how the issue was resolved? You can PM me if you'd like.

Thank you for your help.
