Replacing a sump

Hi folks new to the site and need some urgent information as my car is stranded in dealers garage with a stripped sump plug hole.
Anyone know if there is a kit to rethread the existing sump and if it's being replaced how long should it take them to replace the whole sump

To replace the pan the engine has to at the very least be jacked up if not pulled. Pretty sure the front axle runs through it on the X drive.

Just tap it and install an oversized bolt.

More importantly, the shop should pay to replace the pan due to their monkey that either cross-threaded the drain bolt or over torqued it.

exactly my feelings can't understand why they can't re tap it as you suggest. however have been forced to pay for the new sump although they did pay for the labour and in my book thats admitting liability so moving to the next step to claim a refund for the sump. Many thanks

If they screwed it up, they should be paying. Though labor is far greater than the part.

This is exactly why no one touches my vehicles for any reason but me.
