RED Screen of death

Hi all!

I have the CCC system ( i think..OLD screen no navi maybe 6.5"?)...but I have the AvinUSA 11.25" screen on it...

It turned all red out of nowhere 2 weeks ago - I've searched and everyone says to hold down the volume knob to reset it, but this never worked for me. It never reset nor fix anything.

The android side of this AvinUSA display is perfectly fine. It is only RED when I go to the original iDrive menu...

HELP!

I think the fact you have avin throws a curve ball.
There is a audio / entertainment system subforum. Cross post there.

Why not contact Avin? I bet their customer service will troubleshoot with you.

I contacted AvinUSA and they told me it looks like a factory issue. This is how I found out about this "red screen of death" stuff.

I just can't seem to do this "reboot" that everyone is able to do with their iDrive. Hoping not to actually have to put my stock radio back on.

Was hoping of just replacing a damaged wire harness or something.

Maybe try flashing update for ccc/mask. I forget which one you would have

What do you mean by factory issue? The BMW factory or the Avin factory.
Either way itís not a factory issue, but Iím thinking itís the display itself that pooped the sheets.
Also, since you have the Avin system, the CCC reboot method wonít apply unless they programmed the same function. Youíre no longer dealing with standard bmw stuff.

Yeah I've got one as well and they're total POS's. This is a factory video feed issue. May be related to the connection to the Avin and I've had to disconnect and reconnect mine countless times but never seen that red screen. That might solve it or the (also POS) factory unit may have crapped out.

It's still red. The android side of things is fine so I usually keep it on there before I turn off the car so that when it starts up again, it goes straight to Android side.

Where do you guys "unplug" and reconnect?

Any ideas? the iDrive is fully functional, I can still see everything. It looks like when you disconnect one of the RGB component jacks on the tv..RED

Anyone know where the other side of PART #1 connects to? I know one side goes to the back of the monitor, but can't seem to trace the other end of it....

Which exactly is the radio/mask/champ? Is that the unit with the volume knob?

I ordered the new wire, hopefully it fixes the red screen on the factory side...

Nothing wrong with my Avin radio at all - never had issues with the android side of things.

Yes, the unit with the volume knob. The one time I had the red screen fortunately reseating that cable fixed it.

My mask was flaky, inputs would change erratically and volume knob was wobbly. Replaced on ebay for $200. But now need to code and don't have icom to do it with. Tool32 wouldn't do it.

I have had the red screen before and I luckily the following morning it started working again. I thought I was for sure going to have to fork out $3,000 to fix it.

Sorry I cant be of help, Good luck!
