Hot off the Press! Model Year 2021 PHEV X5 xDr45e Ordering Guides published!

I don't believe this has been posted anywhere else.. yet...

I do have one open available production slot for custom build.

Must be local delivery on this particular transaction (I am halting out-of-state operations until DMVs re-open nationwide)..

Check it out!

Thanks for posting. I wonder why they are not offering Full Merino, hopefully that is just for the 45e and not all G05's for 2021. Do you know when the ordering/pricing guides for the rest of the G05s will be released?

No mention of what on board charger is being used, has it been upgraded for 2021 model year?

I would think this is highly unlikely, as the 2020 MY version (available outside of NA) still has the 3.7kW charger. The odds of them bumping this up in only the second year of production are probably slim.

What is the name/model number of the electric version x5 that is coming in the 2021 model year? I remember a dealer telling me it was on the way and would get 40-50 miles off of each charge.

Yes, thanks! My lease is up on my S550 so I'm coming back home to BMW. My son has been telling me about an electric version of the X5 so I want to start checking it out.

The X5 45e is already released and being sold in Europe (and possibly other markets). It was just recently added to the BMA NA web site as a "future vehicle" and they do not yet have all details ("Build Your Own", pricing, specs, etc) listed. Production for the NA market begins this month and dealers are accepting orders from customers.

If you go to the last page of this thread you can see some of the US 'Festers who have already ordered.

My dealer has their first one set to be built on the 26 June. Typically, it takes a couple of weeks before delivery, but who knows these days. My guess is that they will start to be sitting on the lots late in the summer, but that's hard to say for sure. The first one(s) may end up being a demo for them, but who knows for sure...varies by dealership.

We put a deposit in 3/31 and finalized the order a couple weeks ago when the pricing guideline came out. Production is scheduled for "June."

For those who have already made a commitment and are in cue for production/delivery were you able to do any wheeling / dealing on price?
Looking at the price info I have the config I'm most interested in is about $5K more than a similarly configured non-hybrid. Of course that's before any federal / state tax credits where available.

We were about 5% off of msrp plus any rebates or other offers available at the time of delivery.

For fans living in California: Does anyone know with the increased battery efficiency and longer range on battery will the xDrive45e be carpool sticker eligible per California Air Resource Board?

I would think so as it has nearly as much range as the gen 1 Chevy Volts. And it should also qualify for the CA $1k tax credit too.

Things like remote start and hot / cold cup holders are not listed on the spec sheet- do you think they are gone or jus not mentioned? Particularly interested in remote start.

Never mind - I answered my own question. The connected drive lets you turn on the heat and A/C remotely.

Heated and cooled cup holders, as well as some other options, have been removed from the X5's for 2021.

Getting the ventilated seat option forces cabin air through the seat cushions. This, I've found, is a significant advantage, even in the winter on a longer trip.
