Thanks in advance
That looks like a G-car steering wheel, haven't seen one retrofitted to i3 yet. I have seen i8 wheels put in i3 successfully however.

You are right but this has the large screen. HU-NBT with VIN V505730. So I'm stumped.

You are sure the video file you are trying to play has the video encoded in a supported format?

The only thing I can think of is that this car had been coded previously and maybe some things were corrupted. I'll VO code the HU-NBT from fresh and reset everything. Hopefully that'll clear things up.

Hi all, new to this forum.

Wow a ton of information here - very informative and helpful people too.

So i recently - like on Friday became a used 2017/2018 i3 REx owner. I have a VIN ending in VC34662 and using other internet resources I have determined that I can code my i3 to enable enhanced Bluetooth functions.

I have the paid version of the BimmerCode app and have used it to enable other functions / features successfully however, I cannot find a definitive guide for Enhanced Bluetooth (EBT). Is there a guide that someone has or has someone done this before using the BimmerCode app? I am using a VGate iCar Pro 4 BLE / Bluetooth 4.0 ODBII for connectivity. From my understanding I would need to use Expert mode in the app - but am not totally sure which ECU's to configure.
Most of the guides are for non-i series units

I am also open to coding it using the USB option and if anyone has the package for the USB option, please PM me ASAP!

Any help / guidance is appreciated. PM is welcome.

problem solved. Seems like it can be done using BimmerCode App using expert mode. Problem was that the Bluetooth version o my Android phone was too high.

I enabled a downgraded version and everything is working fine.

hello everyone!

I am now the proud owner of 2x BMW I3 60 ah for my wife and I. One with Rex, the other without.
I have 2 climate control consoles
1) the first without many options and no LCD display on the temperature knob
2) the second with full options, including LCD display on the temperature knob

I purchased an advanced console on ebay, and would like to replace my wife's console with this one.

the installation went well, I followed the official instructions available under >> https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/i...ols/1VnXYEoUng
All went ok, but the car doesn't recognize the new console, so many features are disabled

Do you know how to "code" the car to accept the new console? can BimmerCode App help in this context?

thanks and regards
Alex

I'm interested in explaining the transformation into 6NS - Enhanced Bluetooth (EBT) with Bimmercode.
regards

I am having issues coding a 2019 REX i3. I am using E-Sys 3.30.1 with Launcher Pro 2.8.1.155. PSDZDATA version is 4.18.33.

I have used the below procedure on a Windows 10 64-bit physical system with no previous versions of coding software installed. I have also tried it via a virtual machine. Both methods result in the same problem.

I run the launcher and get into E-Sys without any problem. When I connect, I am have two versions of the I001 target. I am not taking about the DIRECT one, but an entirely separate option. One is I001_19_03_552_V_004_001_000 and the other is I001_19_07_539_V_004_001_000. Both of them have DIRECT options with the same version.

I can connect using either version. I then read and activate the FA, then push the “Read (ECU)” button, which then populates the SVT window. I can select a green checked item then select “Read Coding Data” from the context menu. That changes the selected item into a folder, which I expand, select the item within it then select “Edit FDL” from the context menu. That switches me to the FDL Editor window

I can then navigate down to the item I want to edit. Once I get to it, I see the item and its value, but it is not editable (“greyed out”). I tried several different modules and multiple values, but they are always not editable.

I attached photos of what I am seeing in E-SYS.

I’d appreciate some advice on how I can get past this issue.

Thanks!

You are in the wrong location. Expand correct folder and you should be able to modify.

Can you elaborate? It's not just that option, but every one that I've tried in multiple modules.

Thank you very much, Almaretto. I initially didn't see the photo on your reply to my post. Once I did, I immediately realized what I was doing wrong. A definite case of user error on my part.
