M Performance Exhaust B58

I'm looking for some feedback on the M Performance Exhaust for 340/440. This is a sportier muffler (part no 18-30-2-406-953), not the full blown "power and sound" package which also adds more power. This is sportier sound only and probably a third the price. Looks like one could get the "exhaust" and required tips and maybe installed for a minimum of $1200 whereas looks like the power and sound package, with a more sophisticated burbling exhaust would be minimum of $3600 installed.
Given the limited opportunity in street driving to utilize the extra HP of the P&S kit, I'd like to hear from anyone who has just the exhaust (M performance muffler). Sound sportier?
I had a 335is, which I bought largely because of the great howling, burbling exhaust. But honestly, with windows up, as most driving is done, I rarely heard much of the exhaust.
I now have a 440i with track package. Thanks.

I stand amazed that BMW gets well over $1k to remove batting and/or plug holes in the perforated pipe inside the muffler[s]. You can hire a guy to do that for $200.

What exactly is the track package?

I take your point on price, however I suspect there's no cost-benefit analysis that justifies anything BMW charges. And there's a little more to making a muffler that sounds sporty on acceleration but does not drone annoyingly at steady speed than just ripping the guts out of the can.
FYI - Track package is variable sport steering, Adaptive M suspension, M sport brakes, unique wheels with non-runflat Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer performance tires.

There is, and that exists in the stock design. Note the sound in the link is a stock system modded to reduce volume attenuation.

I notice no mention of change in suspension geometry....? I'd look for that, switching from stiff sided RFT's.

Just sound, no power claims. Interestingly, I see this muffler is specified for the automatic transmission only. Odd since the replacement "stock" muffler is the same for either automatic or manual. Could it be that because the manual turns higher rpms in highway cruising, BMW is concerned that this M Performance muffler drones a bit?

I would save the $1000 to spend on a worthwhile mod or two or three. For example front and rear spoilers and side skirts plus a piggyback

I have exact same car (track package) and the PERFORMANCE EXHAUST. Not the full blown MPPSK.

It's loud enough especially in tunnels with some popping. But not annoyingly loud as the M3s ripping it.

I would not get the M performance exhaust, you can get find aftermarket exhausts that sound better and are cheaper
